Last Friday, June 24th, Saint John the Baptist’s Day, the Executive Secretary of the CMI, Geraldo Macedo, was present in Porto Alegre, capital of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, at the Inauguration Ceremony of the new Grand Master of the Grande Oriente do Rio Grande do Sul, Celito Cristofoli, having as his Deputy brother Marcus Vinícius Bortolotto.

And on Saturday, June 25th, the Executive Secretary, Brother Geraldo, participated in the Meeting of Leaders, promoted by the Masonic Grand Lodge of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, of which he was one of the speakers, alongside Brothers such as Hamilton Mourão, Vice-President of the Republic; Aldino Brasil, Secretary General of the CMSB; Rudy Barbosa Levy, Former Executive Secretary of CMI; among others.

The event, which had more than 1,600 Freemasons, was held at the SESI Theater in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul State, being considered by the organizers as the largest Masonic meeting in Latin America. In addition to lectures, there were musical performances and a theatrical play that addressed the Masonic affiliation of the leaders of the Farroupilha Revolution.

The CMI congratulates the Grande Oriente do Rio Grande do Sul, through its Grand Master, Celito Critofoli, for the beginning of the new administration; and the Masonic Grand Lodge of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, through its Grand Master, Tadeu Gomes Xavier, for the wonderful event, extremely well organized.
