Between the 17th and 20th of November, 2021, the XVIII World Conference of Regular Grand Lodges took place, in Berlin, Germany. With 73 voting Grand Lodges and some attending as visitors, the conference brought together more than 250 Masonic leaders who debated topics of relevance to Regular Freemasonry and its future.

The event included sanitary security measures, which included the requirement for vaccination and the presentation of negative test results for Covid-19, as well as social distancing rules. This did not prevent a warm climate of brotherhood and harmony from reigning, especially among the European and Brazilian Grand Lodges, in greater numbers, who chose to join forces in good proposals for the sake of the Order, such as the approved proposal, which changes the model of conduct from upcoming conferences to a triumvirate of Grand Masters of three Grand Lodges: the one that hosted the previous conference, the one that hosts the current one, and the one that will host the next.

Brother Geraldo Macedo, Executive Secretary of the CMI, was present representing this which is the largest Masonic organization in the world, with 86 Confederate Grand Bodies. Invited to speak, he spoke about the history of CMI, its structure, objectives and projects. At the end, cheered by the audience, he was awarded the “Friend of Lebanon” medal, presented by the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Lebanon, Brother Raffy Timonian.
